Are you being served…well? 2008
Older people from across the Borough of Stockton are invited to have their say at this year’s ‘Are You Being Served Well?’ Event.

The event will build on the success of previous events and will once again involve people in small discussion groups and allow you to have your say about how you want to live in the future.
The event will welcome the Northern Housing Consortium that has been looking at the design of older people’s housing throughout the North of England.
The event will see the launch of a brand new ‘Golden Guide’ for Stockton, updated, expanded and improved the new Golden Guide brings together all the key information that older people need in one handy booklet, everyone attending will be given a copy of the new guide.
Have you ever wanted to go ‘straight to the top’ to get your ideas across? This could be your opportunity! We have invited the Lead Officers of the council’s key services to come along on the afternoon and listen to your ideas and concerns, it will give you the chance to talk through ideas and concerns with the people who are in charge of planning the services.
This year we have invited two local groups to perform at the Are You Being Served…well event. In the morning there will be a performance from the new Stockton Silver Singers group and in the afternoon we will welcome the Stockton U3A Drama Group.
As well as the chance for discussion there will be a wide range of exhibitions, demonstrations and presentations from organisations that provide services for older people in the Borough.
If you want to come and join us, and have no other way of getting there, we may be able to arrange a lift to get you to the venue and back home again, although we cannot provide a door-to-door service there will be a number of pick up points throughout the Borough.
When you fill in the booking form you can let us know if you need help with transport, if you are making your own way there is ample free car parking at the venue. The Oakwood centre is on Cleasby Lane in Eaglescliffe.
We will provide a free lunch along with tea, coffee and biscuits throughout the day.
There will be no charge for the event, the lunch or the transport.
